This concerns component labling in schematics. In order to produce tidy more complex circuits they need to be compact and sometimes orientated in different ways. The symbols indicate what the items are but currently a lable might consists of something like R3 with R=680k or what ever underneith it.. Similarly C2 might have C=4.7nF underneith it. There are conventions that are widely used. Resistors for instand, 5R for just 5 ohms, 5.1k or even 5k1, very low ohms might be 0R005 as well. Capactitors are generally labled as the package currently does but there is no need to display the C=. Same with resistors as well really.
Lable orientation for veritcal components is probably currently ideal but horizontal would often be better with component number space value.
