I can't simulate

    Hi, I'm a new user of qucs 0.0.10. My OS is kubuntu and all is right except when I simulate.

    In the log there aren't any error but when I want to display a variable in a cartesian diagram this doesn't display.

    And if I choose a tabular diagram when I selected a variable and press the Accept button then the program shut down.

    Sorry for my english.

      Helloo there!

      Can you please check if the simulation itself worked ok, i.e. there is a non-empty dataset (*.dat) file produced?

      Also please check where the application crashes:

        $ ulimit -c 10000000
        $ qucs

        $ gdb qucs core
      > where

      displays the stack trace for the crash indicating where it crashes.

      Thanks in advance,

      Thanks a lot.

      This is the stack trace:

      X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 166
        Major opcode:  144
        Minor opcode:  3
        Resource id:  0x0
      Failed to open device
      X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 166
        Major opcode:  144
        Minor opcode:  3

      The last line just indicates that a core file was written.  Now do

      $ gdb qucs core
      > where

      The "where" command of gdb gives you the stack-trace.

      Cheers, Stefan.

      So it looks like there is some problem with the Qt library on your kubuntu system.  In fact you were the first one reporting this kind of crash.  Please contact the maintainers of the Qt packages as well as Qucs package of kubuntu.  Hopefully they can help you with the problem.  At least it is worth to file a bug in their system including the information you placed here in the forum.

      Will you do that?

      Thanks in advance, Stefan.

      I post the problem to chief of the project and to founder of the project.

      I hope they can solve the problem!!

      Best regards!!

      Hello josedaniel,

      I would like to use qucs 0.0.10 on Ubuntu Edgy but I have exactly the same troubles that you described (I can't display any variable in the cartesian diagram and the program shuts down when I use tabular diagram).
      Since your last post, did you get any solution by qucs's support community ?

      Thanks in advance for your answer.
