Quarkos 24.04 Noble LTS, brand new stable release

Quarkos 24.04 Noble LTS is finally stable and available for download. This long term support edition is based on Ubuntu 24.04 Noble Numbat with Plasma 5.27 desktop by default. A Trinity desktop option featuring the most recent version 14.1.2. of lightweight Trinity desktop is also available for immediate download and use.

Quarkos tries to minimize Snap based software in favor of reliable and proven Apt packages. Quarkos Noble release follows Ubuntu LTS 5 years standard support cycle until April 2029 at least. Since the support may be extended up to 10 years, it may even be supported until April 2034, so we will support it as long as Ubuntu upstream will do.

Quarkos is a user friendly, desktop oriented operating system based on Ubuntu Linux with Plasma, optionally Trinity desktop environment, and an added value thanks to unique Q4OS tools integrated. Its goal is to provide Ubuntu based operating system with Q4OS amenities. Unlike Q4OS, which is Debian based, Quarkos is based on Ubuntu.
