#34 PostgreSQL: Slow connection establishment

I use Quantum DB for some years (with DB2, Oracle and MySQL).

For some time, I also use PostgreSQL. Unfortunately, the establishment of the connection via Quantum DB takes a long time (about 40 sec).
In other Java applications (with the same JDBC driver) the connect works very quickly.

What could be the reasons for that?
