I spoke too soon. It still fails on the hppa platform -- see the full build

Trouble is, part of the test work, ie in Examples/BermudanSwaption or
Examples/Swap. But once it gets to the test-suite/ directory it blows up:

Prepared, built and uploaded for Debian on Feb 9 based on my i386. Builds are
fine for 

     alpha amd64 armel hurd-i386 ia64 kfreebsd-amd64 kfreebsd-i386
     mips mipsel powerpc s390 sparc

but failed on hppa.  Which, I have to admit, it already did for alphas 1 and
2 and I had overlooked that. [ armel also failed but is now fine. ]

As this happens in the somewhat optional quantlib-benchmark that I run on top

In case anybody would like to give me a hand debugging this (maybe a
boost-test interaction ?) I'd be game, but I might need a hand.  The hppa
folks are not aware of any issues with libc so there could of course be a
real bug lurking somewhere.

There is one small minor bug. In the MarketModels example, the
MarketModels.cpp needs to have the following lines inserted around line 47
in case the QL_ENABLE_SESSIONS is defined.

Hi Siddharth,

are you working with the svn trunk or svn 0.9.7 or an older tarball?
I have put together calc addin source files in the 0.9.9 branch of the svn tree, see

This has been copied to the trunk and the 1.0 branch in the meantime, see
http://quantlib.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/quantlib/trunk/QuantLibAddin/Addins/Calc2/ 

I tested compilation with quantlib 0.9.9., see the Readme.txt in QuantLibAddin/Addins/Calc2 for further prerequisites.
The usual build process assumes that the source files are largely generated automatically by gensrc, but gensrc needs to be adjusted for that (I am on it). The last release tarball that came with the source files for the calc addin was 0.9.7 or even 0.9.0, and I'd like to help reanimating this corner of QuantLib.

I would be grateful if you would try compiling the files in QuantLibAddin/Addins/Calc2 to have another check on a Linux environment.

Why TBB and not boost? Because TBB emphasizes task based programming.
It saves the developers from dealing with raw threads. In addition to
many parallel algorithms and concurrent containers, TBB also supports
thread based programming very similar to tboost::threads.

KA,

I am not sure that it is easy to add the thread support for QuantLib, since
which is object oriented and using a lot of singletons.
Last time, I every tried to add the thread support for partial classes of
it, but finally I aborted it and switched to multi-process solution.

[Quantlib-dev] Multicore support for QuantLib

I am considering to start working on multicore support for QuantLib.
In particular, I am intended to use Intel's Threading Building Blocks
to enable multicore support for QuantLib. But before I start, it would
be great to know if anyone else done something similar with QuantLib.
Do you think TBB is the best choice?

Yes, I am seeing that done as well.  Eg I worked a little with Google
ProtoBuf, and they are at 'API number 6' with actual version 2.3.0.

Either way, on the next API/ABI change we should probably move from 0.0.0 :)
Right now Debian simply encodes the QL version number in the name as the
three digits have never changed from 0.0.0.  That too, is common.  

Either way should work for me.  Not sure what is best / least work for you
and QL.
