QuakeIRCd-2.2.0 Released!

After much testing and polish from the QuakeIRCd-2.x branch we have released the first stable branch build of QuakeIRCd since 2005.

QuakeIRCd-2.1 Released!

QuakeIRCd 2.1 after much of work, has finally been released. 
 
New Notable Features in this version are: 
-Full Mac OS X Intel Support
-Invisibility (Usermode +I) Support
-Fixed memory addressing
-IRCAdmin Oper level removal
 
There have been many patches, and bugfixes in this version. All open bugs from the 2.0 series have been closed. 
 
Networks using any previous versions of QuakeIRCd should upgrade. 
 
Win32 Users: You can now compile via Cygwin, make sure to read README.cygwin and have the proper src and includes for openssl and zlib installed if you plan to use them.

QuakeIRCd-2.0.0-Beta1 Released!

After much wait the first beta of the 2.0 series of QuakeIRCd is ready.

New Notable Features:
---
New Protocol (Read about it in doc/rfc)
Framework for Protocol Emulation
New Versioning System
Removed m_bottler

There have been many bugfixes and compile fixes done in this build. If you are using any previous CVS build of 2.0.0, it is strongly reccomended to upgrade to 2.0.0-Beta1.

QuakeIRCd-1.8 Released

QuakeIRCd 1.8 after much of work, has finally been released.

There have been many patches, and bugfixes in this version. All open bugs from the 1.7 series have been closed.

Networks using any previous versions of QuakeIRCd should upgrade.

QuakeIRCd-1.8-RC1 Released!

Today, QuakeIRCd 1.8-RC1 was released, the beginning of the rc stage of the 1.8 release. Added since beta2 is the ability of Op/Hop/Voice to be not affected by channel mode +B.

Cygwin Users: Please be sure to read "README.cygwin"

Users of 1.8 Beta releases should upgrade to RC1.
Expect 1.8 Final later this week.

QuakeIRCd-1.8-Beta2 Released

Today QuakeIRCd-1.8-Beta2 was released pending further testing under Cygwin. There are minor changes from Beta1 to Beta2, but it is a definate upgrade if you are using Beta1.

Beta2 is reccomended for Production Use due to the new features.

QuakeIRCd-1.8-Beta1 Released!

Today QuakeIRCd-1.8-Beta1 was released. It has been deemed stable enough to run on production networks.

Starting with 1.8-Beta1 the win32 and *nix/bsd trees have been merged. Win32 users no longer need a seperate package, they just need cygwin to compile and run QuakeIRCd from win32. This move allows more customizability by the server admins allowing them to change specific settings once reserved for *nix/bsd users.... read more

QuakeIRCd-1.7.1a Released

The minor point release, QuakeIRCd-1.7.1a was released today.

It fixes an issue with the emergency alert system that could cause it to remove the lock prematurely.

It is protocol compatible to ease upgrade from 1.7.1

QuakeIRCd-1.7.1 Released

QuakeIRCd 1.7.1, a minor release has been released.

New Features in this version is:
Ability to use multiple hosts for one oper in CentralConfs

Networks using 1.6, 1.6a or 1.7 should upgrade to 1.7.1, the win32 version of 1.7.1 will follow in the next few days.

QuakeIRCd-1.7-RC1 Released

Today, which will most likely be the last pre-release version of QuakeIRCd 1.7, RC1 was released closing all outstanding bugs from the 1.6 stream of development and tidying up changes to the 1.7 stream.

It is to the point of stability that if you are running 1.6, 1.6a or a 1.7 beat, it is suggested that you upgrade to RC1.

QuakeIRCd-1.7-Beta2 Released

QuakeIRCd-1.7-Beta2 ws released today to further testing in the final goal of releasing QuakeIRCd-1.7

Beta2 is a incremental upgrade to Beta1, moving options to the configuration files, fixing memory leaks and refining the new functions.

If your using Beta1 it is reccomended that you upgrade to Beta2.

The main goals for QuakeIRCd 1.7 have been finished. A period of testing will be done and tweaking, and at which point QuakeIRCd-1.7-Beta1 will be released.

QuakeIRCd-1.6a Win32 Released

The long awaited Win32 build of QuakeIRCd has been released, updating the win32 branch to 1.6a(current). The last released win32 build was 1.5.

QuakeIRCd-1.6a Released

QuakeIRCd-1.6a was released today upon the discovery of a bug which caused servers to randomly exit on sync/link. It also includes the 1.6 m_whois patch.

It is reccomended that you upgrade to 1.6a as soon as possible as it could prevent issues down the road, however, the protocol id for 1.6a is same as 1.6, which lets you link the two versions together to have as little effect on your network as possible while your upgrading.

QuakeIRCd-Devel is meant to be the BLEEDING EDGE of the QuakeIRCd code, some things may not work, however some really awesome features may be present in this branch that you could use.
