#4 Better spectator-mode

Can anyone take up the task of probably revising the
spectator-command? I like to watch games in
spectatormode, but I can't help feeling it could be
done better. While using various proxies, I've liked
the fact that you could follow a player for a certain
period of time before you moved to the next one, not
to mention the current hotspot-player, ie. the player
with the quad or the penta and follow his spree.
Ofcourse a really ambitious mind would revise the
whole system to a totally new level, but why not begin
with small steps? When the time comes you could put a
spectatormode in the likes of HLTV. This could really
boost Quake1 as _the_ spectatorsport of the net.
I'm interested in hearing your comments on this.
