#289 sw and sw32 flicker

I have recently compiled this on the Raspberry Pi platform to play and while it does in fact compile and performance is good on the software driver it has a flickering problem

Anytime you:
-Collect an item
-Get damaged
-Console message

the screen flickers for about a second and a half as if it is drawing over itself out of sync
