Yes, it comes as a default when you make a project on Sourceforge. I left it 
up just in case. I see you made a post there 2 days ago, I didnt know this.

In my admin options , there is a "Allow posting replies via email" setting 
for the forum / diuscussion feature, I have it set to on. Not sure if that 
will make forum posts come through to this list or not. I will try a reply 
in the forum to your post to see.
