It would be very helful if I could mute single clips, most important audio clips. Then it's much easier to find out if the unwanted part comes from the end of a given clip or from the beginning of the next.
The clip should then be marked with an "M" or displayed hatched or shaded.
Being able to mute MIDI clips wouldn't be bad, either.

while this may take the time to implement, and specially for audio clips, you can set an individual clip gain to -60dB (the lower limit you may set) and get the desired effect.

I'd like this too, but I can also confirm that Rui's proposed workaround works pretty good.
Today I wished I had a mute option for MIDI clips, too. It would be very helpful by moving MIDI clips "out of the mix" with the option to re-activate them.
on the MIDI clip editor, File > Properties... > Volume = 0%.
this is similar to setting Clip > Edit... > Gain = -60dB for audio clips.
