It is nice that most options in Qtpfsgui can be customized to create a very accurate and artifact free workflow essential to photometric work (i.e. reflectance measurement and image based rendering tasks). In particular, support for RAW images (and the ability to process them to 16bpc TIFF files), the ability to align images automatically and the ability to compute a unique camera response curve are all essential features of a photometricly accurate workflow and are all available in this software.
What I've noticed, however, is that the default settings prefer speed to precision and consequently do not provide a good accurate tool. It would be ideal if there were a mode or alternate workflow intended for those who are doing photometric work and need to tradeoff speed for accuracy in bit depth and color fidelity.
