#181 TIFF images deleted when using align_image_stack

Luminance HDR 2.4.0

I'm sure I filed a bug about this before, can't find it.

When creating a HDR from TIFF images residing in the same folder as Tools > Preferences > Tone Mapping > Temporary Working Folder, they get deleted when using align_image_stack. I didn't even use tone mapping, just created the HDR.
Tested with that option set to /home/user/programs and /tmp and i copied the TIFF files to each of those places.

When the TIFF images are elsewhere, they do not get deleted.

Under no circumstance should LHDR delete files!

why would someone put images in a temporary folder, or in other words why did you set the temporary-folder-setting in LHDR to a non-temporary one?

What you are trying to do here is very odd, in fact changing the temporary working folder is a very advanced feature.

I'll try to see what I can do about it.

As I wrote, TIFF files I'm feeding to LHDR are nothing more than intermediate files, therefore there is nothing wrong with putting them in a temporary place. Develop the raws in RawTherapee, save as 16-bit TIFF, feed them to LHDR. Once the HDR is done and I'm satisfied with it, it can be saved or tone mapped and the TIFF files deleted or forgotten (because /tmp get wiped on reboot). However LHDR should under no circumstance delete any file itself. What if I'm not happy with the HDR? The TIFF files are gone, and I need to re-develop them.

"why did you set the temporary-folder-setting in LHDR to a non-temporary one"
To check when the images get deleted. This helped me find that the deletion is linked to the "Tools > Preferences > Tone Mapping > Temporary Working Folder" setting, even though I did not tone map!

Hi, I'm facing the same problem on Windows 7 32 bits and LHDR 2.4.0; but in my case, i can't use LuminanceHDR to do a simple tonemap with align_image_stack.
Seems the temp file gets deleted BEFORE the actual HDR image is created.

I also changed the temporary folder to see what happens; but the result is exactly the same:
    - I click on New HDR Image
    - The form brings up and i add 3 images (+2, 0, -2EV), i check the align, the crop and advanced options
    - It creates the align_* images on the temp folder
    - The advanced dialog brings up; the images on the temp folder are still there.
    - Where i click "Next >" Button, the temp images are deleted. And after that, appears the HDR creation dialog, and asks for the profile. But the images aren't on the temp folder yet.

I tried combinations of this, and i never could finish a hdr creation with align_image_stack. It always appears black, since it can't find the images anymore.

I'm very interested on this. If anyone knows a fix, please let me know!
