Qtoaster 1.0.2 Update: !Critical - Video modes were not working properly and wouldnt reflect most video modes to QEMU - Added, explorer to open output folder after installation as requested by Thomas Cox Note: Some users that are using new versions of QEMU may be presented with the error: " qemu: could not load PC BIOS 'bios-256k.bin' " this issues has been answered as it was addressed at: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/66229849/qemu-cant-load-bios-256k-bin-when-running-on-windows
The QEMU installer I wrote this for is: (qemu-w64-setup-20200201.exe) QEMU emulator version 5.1.92 available at: https://qemu.weilnetz.de/w64/2020/ in (startup sequence said image format was not specified, and recommended 'raw') it is assuming the image format and should boot the image. It should load the boot sector. Issue: Gtk-WARNING : Could not load a pixbuf from /org/gtk/libgtk/th /Adwaita/assets/bullet-symbolic.svg. A related issue seems to have been closed and resolved at: https://github.com/microsoft/vcpkg/issues/9936...
Permissions seem to have been part of the problem. On Windows 10, I found that the exe and dll did not have full control checked for authenticated users. When I checked it, everything runs great! On Windows 7, not sure what happened . Full control box IS checked for authenticated users. Yesterday the GUI did not appear. Today it works fine in Windows 7. A couple of minor issues: 1) The startup sequence said image format was not specified, and recommended 'raw'; 2) Qemu recommended changing -soundhw...
I did install and successfully run on a fresh installation of Win7 and 8.1. I am trying to reproduce the failure, but I can't as yet. You may want to change permissions in the security tab under properties when you right-click on the lutil.dll and QToaster.exe file to your user name, and dont run in compatibility or administrator.
Ok, so it disappears right after execution? Config.ini is created after the program closes and contains window position and the location of your QEMU executable. Does this happen on both win7 and win10 machines? Does the programs user interface even show up? Thank you again btw.
The exe and dll files are present. On first execution, the program created 3 ini files: CDROM.ini, HDD.ini, and machine0.ini. If there should be four, then execution seems to have crashed at that point.
So it did install, is there a crash problem that needs to be addressed? In the next release I will have explorer open the destination folder. Just keeping in mind that lutil.dll does need to be in the same folder as the main executable and that 4 configuration files are created upon its first execution.

I made a simple video of the installation for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQZcFCd7rLc
I downloaded your latest QToaster version 1.0.1 this morning, and attempted to install it on two different computers. One runs Windows 7 and the other Windows 10. In both cases, after giving admin permission to execute the installation exe, The program appeared to immediately crash without installing anything. There is no indication that my internet security applications blocked the install. Has any one else reported this problem? Can you recommend a way around the problem? I take it back. The install...

Qtoaster 1.0.1 Bug Fixes: Fixed - After installation and on an attempted boot, a command window shows up, disappears and nothing else happens even though there is a valid image loaded. Fixed - Images wont resize properly. Additional: Reduced exe size as the resources being used were too large.
