Esteemed Forum Moderators: (SNMP/MIB Newbie alert!)
I am trying to work with my new D-Link DGS-1100-05 Managed Switch. I
have, with intensive effort, bootstrapped (Googlestrapped?) my way up to
the point where I can use the browser control panel interface, and I can
use NET-snmp using NUMERIC FORMAT ONLY to get 148 OIDs, but I have NO
idea as to what most of them are. I have to figure out which OID
corresponds with a parameter in the GUI interface, which has decent text
descriptions of the various parameters.
D-Link sent me 2 sets of MIBs - "standard" and "private", but I am now
thoroughly lost.
QTMIB is really nice, and it does translate the numeric OIDs into some
generic text OIDs, but that still doesn't give me all of the information
I need. There doesn't seem to be any transparency in what MIBs are
being used. What MIBs and versions thereof are "preloaded" in QTMB?
Also, where is the 'documentation'? I couldn't find it.
Thank you for any and all comments, suggestions, and assistance with
this inquiry.
Blessings in abundance, all the best, & Stay Well!
