Firstly, thankyou Thomas for writing QtdSync as it's worked very well with FreeNAS, in fact the best out of all the ones I've tried.

I have one filespace needing backing up to 2 NASs on the local network. They are resident at 2 different IP addresses, but there is only ever one NAS on the network at any one time. The backup jobs for each server are identical. What is the best way of using QtdSync to backup to each NAS?

What I would really like is to have 2 separate copies of QtdSync installed with their own settings/jobs, one for each server. Keeping them as 2 separate applications would be more compatible with how QtdSync works as it re-enables all the jobs when you come back to the main window.
    I have tried the following:
    1) Installing another copy of QtdSync but even though it installs in its own directory it automatically pulls all the old jobs up when it's run. There doesn't appear to be any separation between them.
    2) Simply writing another backup job in QtdSync to goto the 2nd NAS in the same way as the first. This isn't preferred as there's about 20 existing jobs and it leads to confusion. Also because of the way QtdSync works its easy to confuse settings and end up modifying the server 1 job when you want server2.
OS is WinXP Pro 32 SP3

    Hi Pedro,
Firstly, thanks for the "thankyou" ;)

As you said it would be best to have two separate copies of QtdSync. There is a bug-report about QtdSync not really being "portable". I intend to fix that by creating a REAL portable version (www.portableapps.com). And THAT version might be what you need.

Hope you can be (a little) patient for another few days ;)

    Greetings,
    Thomas

I'm just theorising here, and don't have time to test it right now, but would it not be possible to run two instances as two separate users? Does QtdSync store the settings per PC or per user?

There are SOME settings which are stored per PC. But, if you installed QtdSync to the standard location (C:\Program Files) the main settings should be stored per user.
