Before running this binary you need to do the following (as root): chown root:root qscribe chmod +s qscribe For those of you who are worried about allowing a gui to run as root, I have taken every precaution, and the binary lowers its permissions on launch and ONLY re-elevates its permissions during the actual burn process. This can be installed anywhere on your system, but /usr/bin or /usr/local/bin is probably a good choice. This app requires the LSS(Lightscribe System Software) to be installed in order to run. The LSS is available at http://www.lightscribe.com in rpm or deb format. If you are running a 64-bit (must be multi-lib) system, you CAN still run this. Install the LSS libraries to your lib32 directory and make sure that lib32 is in your linking path (it should be). In case you're wondering about the size of this binary, it has to be statically linked in order to avoid issues with older versions of qt and in order to allow 64-bit users to run it. (Believe me, I want it to be smaller) If you encounter any segmentation faults, please report them to me via Sourceforge bugtracker or contact me on Sourceforge. In your report, please include as detailed a description as possible of what you were doing when the problem occurred (Including any sequence of button presses if possible). Want to get involved? Have suggestions? Drop me a line on Sourceforge.
