Dia has lots of built in symbols and objects for schematics,
pictures and such. It's very easy to use.

Yes, there is nothing wrong with using a variety of documentation
tools as long as they are reasonable compatible. Learn new tools
that other have experience with is OK with me too.

I look forward to trying out these tools and learning
some new tricks.



We also a list of software tools such as QT and the
flags(dependencies). When that is  figured out,
maybe Iain can list the flags needed for gentoo with the
various languages and packages. The software
list that comes to mind is: QT, Java, Mysql, (maybe Postgresql)
Apache2 C(gcc4.1.1) Perl, Python, php5 ???
Version numbers and flags(gentoo)/dependencies that are
documented so folks with similar linux machines can quickly
establish compatibility will allow folks to join and submit
code, seamlessly. Just a thought here. This will be particular
wonderful for those languages/packages where were are on the
bleeding edge (QT) of features and constructs.


I would remind everyone if speed is a principal parameter
in the performance of QScada, we bear that in mind as
some of the aforementioned languages are optimized for
speed, other for their ease and graphical abilities. That
correct balance is often a challenge.



There also code from other SCADA/PLC opensource projects and it
may  be useful to look at, or plan on compatibility with:
