Several ways to display relations

The schematic view allows understanding relations inside and between elements.

In this schematic view, we found basic identification (type,name) but also management information (notes in process, status active/inactive).

The goal of this schematic view is to show :

  • Content of the element (i.e. sub-elements or connectors)
  • Parent of the element
  • Relations with other elements (and when relations exist, we also see the sub-elements of the connected elements

Example #1

schematic

In this example we see a lot of information regarding the RACK-00 and his content: we see the patch panels inside the rack, but also management information on these elements (like notes in process). On the mouse tip, we also have their types and addresses.
On the right part, we also have the same king of information for the connected elements.

Example #2

schematic

In this example we see a patch panel having relations with 3 other patch panels. The sub-elements are the connectors; in fact we see an overview of 3 patching. Thanks to the color of the connectors we see which one is connected and the "free" one and on mouse over we can also see how the patching is implemented (connector by connector). When we leave the schematic view, we see the complete list of connectors and the correspondig socked on the other patch panels;
