I have a keyboard with basic multimedia keys on it (volume up, down, mute, play/pause, stop, next and previous). However, at this point I see no way to get them to work with qmmp. It would be nice to add that capability.
I'm running qmmp 0.7.5 on Windows 8.1 Pro (64-bit).

I've installed qmmp-0.7.6, but the Global Hotkey Plugin still doesn't recognize my media keys. And I found no other mention of multimedia keys anywhere else in the settings.

OK, this is strange. I've tested this again with a freshly installed qmmp-0.7.6, and as soon as I enable global hotkeys plugin (even before I configure any keys), the multimedia keys on my keyboard work. I'm very happy about this :)
