Thanks for writing the preview, I would not think you cannot get one HP crapi.

The software preview in 0.14 is a fixed size version of the selected image which is not all that different from what you get without preview. It doesn't even match the size of a CD (though this can be DPI rounding issue if some attempt is made to match the sizes).

What the preview normally does is displaying a grayscale version of the image. Or more precisely an image which blends the CD background color and the expected Lightscribe writing color for the media. It's still only two colors so a grayscale image with some gamma correction would probably give some idea of the writing results.

With the "software printing" in place, however, adding a filter on the output should not be hard. If you wanted to be really realistic you could add some concentric noise to the dark color ;-)
