3D visualizer

Hi, I need a 3d visualizer and I found "Magic 3d Easy View" at http://www.nicolaudie.com/en/easyview.htm which is free (not FULL MODE but I don't need advanced features). I don't manage to connect it to QLC+ (v4.6.1).

Under Input/Output tab of QLC+ I set up an Art-Net connection to my machine ip (10.211.55.16, I'm under windows in a virtual machine on a Mac) but Magic 3D Easy View does not receive any DMX signals. In Magic 3D easy view I patched my rgb led par 56 on channels 1-5 in universe 1 and in QLC+ I tried as outputs all universe between 0 and 3 with no luck. Any ideas? Or has anyone found another 3d visualizer?

Hi, just for curiosity I've installed the Magic Easy View too.
I've tried with two PCs: one with QLC+ on Linux and one with Windows.
The maximum I've been able to do is to move only the first DMX channel of the MEV. All the other channels don't move.
Running QLC+ on the Windows machine, shows that ArtNet channels are sent correctly.
Now, ArtNet is a standard and I test QLC+ with several other softwares and hardwares.

You may try your luck and write to the Nicolaudie guys...

Reading Magic 3D manual I found out that Art-net input is enabled only when the usb dongle is plugged in, although I don't understand why a green light is displayed in the bottom right corner near "DMX".

Looking for other programs I found out that both Capture Polar and Lumidmx 3D works well with QLC+ and Art-Net (especially the former).

I've used Capture Polar for quite a while and also find it great.

Sounds like a lot of fun :)

Have you guys tried version 4.7.0 RC1 with those visualizers yet ?
Is everything OK with ArtNet ?

Yes, works fine. No difference from previous versions :)

    Hi guys,

DMXControl 2 and Freestyler communicate with Magic 3d Easy View via a special dll so no actual DMX input via a device is needed.
Such an integration into QLC+ would be grate as Easy View in the free version is usable in contrary to the Capture Polar student version.
Not everyone can afford 200€ and more for a visualizer

Unfortunately there is absolutely no visualizer for Linux. Perhabs Easy View can be run through Wine, because Capture Polar crashes a few seconds after the start.

There is a blender artnet script, that (requires some coding) is quite powerful, as you can animate anything in blender.
Unfortunately it's not quite finished yet, only information is here https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/open-lighting/PXVwodQnX90/-k5v5D9VRTsJ

For report purpose only (I know it's not a QLC+ problem): with version 4.7.0 the LumiDmx ArtNet Wrapper (which is what allow my DMX visualizer to communicate with the rest of the world over ArtNet) crashes as soon as I select ArtNet output checkbox in Input/Output tab.

This does not happen in QLC+ 4.6.1.
