I am trying to get OSC input to work. I am on Ubuntu 12.04 . I may be doing something wrong. I am sending OSC information from the program Pure Data. I created a profile from the Profile tab using channel: 1 and name: /test and type: slider . In the mapping tab I chose OSC Network 1 . I am sending data through /test from Pure Data on port 7770 but it isn't working. I can recieve the same data in an OSC window so I know it is sending. Do I need to disable the Simple Desk or anything so it doesn't overide the OSC data. Curious if anyone has any hints on using OSC. Thanks.

Hello Jim, you need to use the profile wizard button and send channels one by one from Pure Data. QLC+ will then map them properly.
OSC names and channels are not mapped in a conventional way (basically channel 1 could not even exist)

Thanks a lot. I am getting data into the profile wizard now. For some reason when I move a slider between 0 and 255 in Pure Data the wizard detects this as a button. If I go to edit it to slider the channel number changes. Which brings up another question. The channels detected are quite large ie. 35351. How do I map this to a DMX channel between 1 and 512. Sorry I am just not getting what is probably a simple concept.

I just figured out that the slider value has to be between 0 and 1 for the profile wizard to detect controller type properly. I still don't understand how to map the generated channel numbers to DMX channels however.
    Thanks!

Jim, I'm afraid you need to read some documentation first.
These are basic questions of QLC+ usage.

A lot of elements in QLC+ have a dedicated section saying "External input" and a button saying "Auto detect". Click on it, move your external fader and if the channel is mapped then QLC+ will detect and associate it.

Thanks very much for the help Massimo. I was trying to do this in the Simple Desk, I see now that it works in the Virtual Console. For some reason the documentation icon isn't working on my installation. Awesome program. Thanks again.
