If a fixture is set up for a fog machine as a flash button in virtual counsel, ie Chauvet Hurricane 1800, the button sticks and fog wont turn of. However, If I edit the fixture profile to make it a "Hazer" it works as expected....

Most probably this is LTP/HTP problem. If your fog machine is configured for HTP, flash button works fine. With LTP, you need another button that turns it off. You can configure HTP/LTP behavior for a channel in Channel properties dialog in the fixture tab
