I am just starting to program some basic lights in QLC+ for a christmas show at church.
I am setting it up with ableton which is making it fun.
What i am wondering is if there is a way to have the ableton note hold say ,a button, on for the duration of the midi note and then when the note finishes have to let go.
the way it seems to work now is that it is latched on or off, which doesn't really help in the situation if you have to stop your track and start again, or have a false start the lights dont stop and then you entire light show is out.
anyone got any ideas, fixes, solutions.
or tell me im crazy. Im cool with either and all
thanks guys
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
There is a setting on the button properties for this, named flash function. When this on the light stays on as long as the MIDI note is on. When you release the note, the lights goes out. This only works with scenes, on chasers and matrix you have to send MIDI note for both on and off. You can also make a button with stop all functions, hit the clock button, and set the fadeout time, and assign this button to MIDI as well.
Make sure your MIDI sync and mmc-timecode is switched off on ableton. In Sonar this is on as default, and actually f..... up everything when you attach your dmx-interface.
