Came across these mathematical functions in Wikipedia. There are good animations of the pattern generated on the Wikipedia pages. They might make a useful addition to the patterns already available in qlc+.

The hypocycloid is an extension of the diamond pattern already available in qlc+.

Both need only 3 relatively easy to understand parameters to produce all sorts of interesting patterns.
