I've been loving the software (now that finally I got a compatible USB-DMX adaptor!)

It would be nice to have more keyboard shortcuts in the GUI. Specifically I'd love to have a keyboard shortcut to quickly switch between operate and design modes. CTRL-D or something?

Perhaps the function keys could be used to switch between tabs: F1 for Fixtures, F2 Functions, etc. etc.

Thanks again for all your amazing work on this project!

It is a fact, it lacks a lot of keyboard shortcuts. We should have the ability to map the keyboard with functions.

    Hi,

I understand the need for shortcuts while editing, but:

    map keyboard with functions

Do you mean, map a key to function playback ? You can do this already.

    Cheers

Thank you for the reply but I meant to map the keyboard with a function inside the programing of a scene for example.
I tried to programming the position of several projectors one by one only with the mouse is too long.
    kind regards

Shortcuts for copy and paste channel values in scene edition already exist.
There is even a button to copy channels values to every other projector in the scene.
Have you read the doc / watched the tutorials ?

In case the copy and paste is not what you want to achieve, can you be more explicit ?
What do you mean by function ?

ok imagine 60 moving head projectors in a room arranged different place and you must light a single point or different point. These are not the same settings for each projector. Ok copy channels function is cool but not for the spotlight. The copy function is cool for Beam, Frost, Dimmer, Colors, Gobos etc .. but not for Pan / Tilt & PanFine / TiltFine you understand? We must enter the positioning tool for every projector directly with keyboard shortcuts and mouse to adjust the position. Today one has to click on the projector Tab and click the positioning tool can do the position with the mouse. Making three shares for each projector it is too long for 60 projectors.
    Thank for the reply.

I guess you mean "we should be able to" instead of "we must" ?

Ok, so the general idea is "more keyboard shortcuts".

And a "Global positioning tool button", that displays a positioning tool for every fixture in the scene ? I don't know if this is feasible.

I like the original poster's idea. I use a program for creating electronic schematic diagrams and it was a case of death by a thousand clicks to edit aspects of the design. It is the process of moving between mouse and keyboard continuously - click, type, ENTER, click OK, click, type, ENTER etc. that can be improved in nearly all software. A typical good example is clever use of TAB to cycle through the most commonly used window elements.

I would come up with QLC+ specific ideas but am playing with the Raspberry at the minute ;)

Thank you David for your listening I know that simple function for the user is difficult to programming. I use the matrix function in QLC + and I find it incredible good. I think with only keyboard shortcuts you can at least move the tabs as explained "BOXY" in the previous post.
And what would be amazing is that hold use a keyboard shortcut tool positioning.

Thank you again for this discussion.
    Best Regards

Yes, and the create scene shortcut is not working. (Ctrl + S)
