Is it possible to invert a channel output (so 0=255 and 255=0)?

    Hello again,
I promise i did look through the forum but i don't think I was typing in the correct keywords to get the answer i need. :-)

I would like to be able to assign a fader or channel to do the oposite of what it would normally do.... here is why...

    The setting.
I have 2 ACME 'The Winner' fixtures, one on each side of a stage pointing towards the center of the stage.

I have physically alligned the two fixtures (by climbing onto the lighting rig) so that when pan and tilt are both set to 128 both beams (one from each fixture) is on the floor in the stage center.

The physical orientation of the fixtures means that If I tilt both mirrors then the beams move away from each other and up the side of the stage (this is symetrical and good)

However, if I pan both fixtures by incementing the dmx values up (from 128 to 200 for example) then one beam moves towards the stage front while the other moves to stage back. This is not what I want to happen.... I want them to both move up or down stage together, as one fixture.

I understand that this is perhaps not the most professional way of doing things (and will potentially cause problems later) but it would make things a lot simpler for the setup I have.

The two fixtures do have an 'option' dipswitch which I thought would do this... but in fact I have decided the switch does nothing...

I hope I'm understood. Is there a channel modifier / inverter option I can use please?

    Many thanks again.
    Rick

I realised I could use the XY pad....

I think this is the same thing I'm looking for.
I have 2 moving heads. On my old lighting software I could adjust the properties of each moving head by settings pan or tilt as reverted, and when I moved them the acted the way I wanted.
How did you solve? By using the XY-Pad (where you can revert the channels) you just can move the heads in live mode, not for programming. Or am I wrong?

Go to Channel properties editor and select "Invert" channel modifier for desired channels.

There are still bugs in the implementation, but you may be lucky and don't encounter them :)

    Tahnks Lemons and Jano,
i did as ~Lemonsource said... i use virtual desk to set the scene i want and then dmx dumped the values for programming.

    Jano,
I am now satisfied with the xy pad option (and reverse) I will investigate your option soon as i should be getting another 4 scanners ....on loan.... forever. :-)
