    Hello,

Need some additional info to help you ...

First: what kind (and version) of operating system is the PC running (Windows Xp, 7 ,8 ? Linux ... ? )

Second: what do you mean with 'plot' ?
e.g. you have your fixtures, scenes, etc ... together with a virtual console (to 'run' the performance) stored in a QLC+ file (.qxw extention).
Then it is possible to set up 2 different icons: one for editing (full access to all QLC+ functionality) and one that only allows to 'run' the performance (only virual console is available, no changes possible).
Is it something like this you want to do ?

A plot is when you secretly attempt to the life of your computer lol

    Just kidding :)

Seriously, he probably wants to create an icon on his desktop and when you double click on it, QLC+ starts and load a project.
This is what he needs to read:

Yes, indeed, commandline parameters is the way to go (if that is what the OP means by 'plot').

Depending on the PC's OS, creating the 'icon' (windows shortcut or linux .desktop) is slightly different and you also need to set the "working directory" properly or some things may not work.

    hey guys, sorry

    window 7 pro

basically i want to be able to create a show, and be able to open it straight from the desktop without having to load it inside QLC

    cheers

    Hi Aidan
In windows you can create a 'shortcut' (which is a small file containing a link to another file or program): http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/140443 .

You can create a shortcut to the qxw file containing your show (and place this shortcut on the desktop), but then QLC will always open the file in 'edit' mode and you cannot apply any command line parameters.
Howevern you can also create a shortcut to the qlcplus.exe file (the program) and with command line parameters pass the file to open as well as other options (check the page Massimo mentioned: http://www.qlcplus.org/docs/commandlineparameters.html).
Just make sure that you specify the correct working directory (folder where the qxw file is located)

If you create a 'virtual console' to run your show, using the second method, you can create a shortcut with the -k option so that an operator can only run the show (no editing) and a second shortcut (without -k) for full QLC+ functionality.

    Succes !
