When I get out of qjackctl from the terminal its started from with ctrl-c (I know its rude) jackdbus will remain and can then only be killed -9. Probably a signal handler should be installed that will make ctrl-c follow the usual shutdown procedure?

I would guess this behavior is intended. Even if you exit normally from Qjackctl jackdbus process will still be running

Funny, I observe that too. Still, there is a difference:
    - when I kill qjackctl (0.3.10) from the terminal, pulseaudio remains suspended
    - while, when I quit qjackctl from the menu or [x] pa gets resumed.
So ist looks like some message may not be passed on?
