QFaxReader / News: Recent posts

This is an effort to stabilize 0.3 version of QFaxReader. Try it and please report any bug you found. Thanks.

Changes between 0.2 and 0.3 series:
- support for viewing color tiffs added (not printing yet)
- autodetecting printing system
- printing multiple pages per sheet added (up to 4)
- fast smoothscaling for monocrome tiffs implemented
- arbitrary zoom implemented (between 1 and 100%, fit width and fit height support)
- unicode issues fixed
- a lot bug fixes and internal improvements

This is stable version from 0.2.7b. Release focus: minor bugfixes.

Focus: "face lifting", internationalization, caller id support

* fullscreen mode added
* printing engine entirely reworked (now is much faster)

The new version in CVS has a smooth scaling option and some improvements in usability and
installability added. See CHANGE.LOG for details.
Context menu (for fax deletion) is still missing.

About: QFaxReader is a monochrome multipage tiff files visualization utility.

Changes: This release has persistent settings (stored in $HOME/.qfaxreader/preferences), "Sender" and "Time" on the status bar, a files view list (sidebar), autorefresh and notification for new facsimiles, and an entry menu for KDE (in Utilities).
