I have this problem with qdvdauthor 1.09 and ubuntu 9.04:
I have a crash if I try to create animated buttons with a movie: right click in main menu → Add Movie → Properties → crash. Or right click → Add Movie → Define as button → Movie Properties → crash
I have the same result using different movies (dv, vob, mpeg...) and different internal media engine.
Thanks for finding and reporting this.
I can re-produce this crash and will fix it ASAP.
I found the bug. In dialogmovie.cpp line 509
m_pCheckLoop->hide ( );
simply remove this line and compile qdvdauthor again.
Or ou'll have to wait for the next release, or you can update to the latest source as I have just checked in the fix.
Thanks again for finding it.
I am encountering the same problem that skorpio1066 has described, but with more recent versions (qdvdauthor 2.0, as RPM package as well as self-compiled, openSUSE 11.2).
Each time when I am trying to add a movie to the menu background, the file selection menu pops up, I can preview and select a movie, but when I press the OK button, qdvdauthor crashes with "Segmentation fault".
The same crash happens all the time when I open older config XML files that contain "MovieObjects".
Any help is appreciated!
I fixed the problem.
It was related to a bad class hirachy. Thank you for finding this one.
