http://qdvdauthor.sourceforge.net/data/buttons.tar.bz2 contains files with spaces which is not a problem but does not look very nice. When I install qdvdauthor I replace the spaces with a hyphen as this seems to be the most common word separator used for the other button files. I am doing this like below:

OIFS=$IFS; IFS=$'\n'
for i in $(find buttons -depth -name '* *')
do mv ${i} $(dirname ${i})/$(basename ${i// /-})
done
IFS=$OIFS

Also some files in the button directory contain German umlauts like "ü". It looks like the filesnames are encoded in iso-8859-15 which results in display problems on an UTF8 system. Other files in the buttons tarball replace the "ü" with "ue" which should solve the problem. The solution I use is to convert the filename encodig to utf8 using convmv:

convmv --notest -r -f iso-8859-15 -t utf8 buttons

on the buttons directory.
