I had trouble with gspca drivers; so I stumbled over Your logitech driver. I installed it (my distro brings it) rmmod'ed the gspca stuff, insmod'ed the quickcam module and got this result
quickcam 65940 0
videodev 31236 1 quickcam
usbcore 167276 4 quickcam,usb_storage,uhci_hcd
v4l1_compat 13096 1 videodev
video 19992 0
output 2736 1 video
looks good so far. my kernel says :
Mar 16 20:22:17 linux-4f23 kernel: usbcore: deregistering interface driver quickcam
Mar 16 20:22:19 linux-4f23 kernel: Logitech quickcam: go to http://qce-ga.sourceforge.net/ for support questions
Mar 16 20:22:19 linux-4f23 kernel: usbcore: registered new interface driver quickcam
and it even brought me to this forum ;-)
then, i tried to call gqcam ... but it does not find a video device.
I checked the usb list :
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 0951:1606 Kingston Technology
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 046d:092f Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Express Plus
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 1307:0165 Transcend Information, Inc.
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
I guess, there is no device created automatically yet. What can I do to find my device?
Thanks a lot for any help!
