Version 0.6.2 creates a 'damaged' image on the
2.6.10-1.741 kernel. Used is the Logitech Quickcam
(which looks pretty much the same as the later
introduced Dexxa webcam, triangle foot). Attached is an
image of the malformed output. No errors occured upon
compiling.

Does it work for different kernels, eg. 2.6.9?
(I suppose so). Have you tried
    qcset compatible=16x,dblbuf
If you are skilled enough, you could try disabling
mmap support from the driver, it might help
    (but slow down).
Do you get the same output with all programs
    (eg. xawtv, gqcam)?

With the 2.6.9 kernel it still worked. The compatibility
version did solve the problem, but I assume this is not
    behaviour we're expecting :).
I don't have xawtv installed, nor gqcam.

Do you still have to use the compatible=16x,dblbuff setting
with the latest kernels? How about with the newest version
    of the driver?
