I am thinking about creating synchronized couple animations. Would it be possible to extend the QAviator, so that it can handle two avatars at the same time?

It would not be that much different then it is now. A second Avatar could be selectable with a simple drop down box to switch between both. This part of the extension should be the easy one.

The more complicated part would be the ability to display both avatars in one scene. This would be one "hide/show other avatar" and would require both avatars be animated in the same timeline. And it would require an additional rotation/translation for displaying purposes so the avatars could be placed against each other. These rotations/translations would in fact rotate/translate the scene, the other avatar is in, not the avatar itself.

Thank you for QAvimator as it is right now. I like it very much!

id like this too very much would make couple poses much easier to line up and sync

QAvimator can handle more than one animation at the same time. Use the "Add" function.

The hide/show function is not there, I guess.
Also, "moving" one avatar to another base-position without having to modify the animation would be nice.
