Chicken is in the process of cutting over to CMake <http://cmake.org>,
which already handles all Windows builds (Cygwin can go either way)
and is optional on Unix builds.  If I get some time I'll experiment
with putting together a buildfile for Q.  I think you'll be pleasantly
surprised at how efficient and easy to use it is.
