I prefer a warning over an error; however, in the programming that I do, I am unlikely to be affected either way. So, I am happy to defer to those with stronger opinions.

Count me in the "indifferent and sloppy" faction. ;-)

BTW, I cast an emphatic vote to retain the current syntax, and adding the () delimiters.
