I'm happy to add variants to the port. I don't use q myself so I  
don't really know what's typical or desired. But if you will file  
enhancement requests in the issue tracker and assign (or Cc) them to  
me, ideally including a patch to the portfile to implement it, or at  
least mentioning which configure flag is necessary, I'll try to add it.
