Is it possible to resize video through pyxine? If so, how/// I can do it easily through the xine command line client, but have found no appropriate methods in the pyxine code. cheers M |

Hi Bram, As you may have deduced, I (Jeff, the original developer of pyxine) am not currently working (or even using) pyxine. I'm still interested, but currently out of time. About six months ago, however, a fellow named Duane Maxwell from Linspire wrote to me. He had a few updates to the code --- apparently they're using pyxine in Linspire. Anyhow I designated him a developer on the project and he was going to check in his updates. I don't think he has yet, however. At the time, Duane mantained that pyxine was still working well. I've CC'ed Duane on this note. You may want to contact him yourself. Best Regards, Jeff Dairiki |

Is it possible to integrate pyxine in a frame of a gui toolkit such as pyGtk2 or wxpython ? Does someone has already done that ? (if yes, does someone have code to show ?) -- Fabien Meghazi http://www.amigrave.com |

Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

Hi, As you probably saw, I'm packaging Pyxine for Debian. :) Although it seems to be working fine, four of the unit tests are failing (both with Python 2.2 and 2.3). This is Xine 1.0rc2, Pyxine 0.1alpha2. (This isn't the order I get them in, just the order I feel like commenting on them in.) =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D FAIL: test_get_version_string (xine_test.SimpleXineTests) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/piman/projects/debian/pyxine/pyxine-0.1alpha2/test/xine_test.= py", line 33, in test_get_version_string pyxine.XINE_VERSION) File "/usr/lib/python2.3/unittest.py", line 302, in failUnlessEqual raise self.failureException, \ AssertionError: '1-rc2' !=3D '1-beta4' Should this be doing >=3D "1-beta4" rather than !=3D? I know string comparison works for Python versions (and works in this case for Xine's version), but I don't know if it will consistently work for Xine. Either way, 1-rc2 does seem to work. =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D FAIL: test_set_audio_volume (xine_test.SimpleStreamTests) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/piman/projects/debian/pyxine/pyxine-0.1alpha2/test/xine_test.= py", line 248, in test_set_audio_volume self.failUnlessEqual(stream.audio_volume, 25) File "/usr/lib/python2.3/unittest.py", line 302, in failUnlessEqual raise self.failureException, \ AssertionError: 23 !=3D 25 Setting the volume to 25 seems to be setting it to 23 (consistently). Maybe my sound card / driver precision (SB Audigy) is just too low to reach 25 accurately? If this is the case, the test should probably be something like 20 < x < 30. =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D FAIL: test_config_num (xine_test.XineConfigTests) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/piman/projects/debian/pyxine/pyxine-0.1alpha2/test/xine_test.= py", line 153, in test_config_num self.failUnlessEqual(val, 6) File "/usr/lib/python2.3/unittest.py", line 302, in failUnlessEqual raise self.failureException, \ AssertionError: 0 !=3D 6 No idea. If browsable_ids holds the kind of "MRLs" that Xine is capable of playing, this is wrong; I can play files just fine. --=20 Joe Wreschnig <wre...@um...> |

Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name : pyxine Version : 0.1alpha2 Upstream Author : Geoffrey T. Dairiki <da...@da...> * URL or Web page : http://pyxine.sourceforge.net * License : GPL Description : interface to the xine media player for Python Pyxine is a Python package which provides Python bindings for libxine, the backend of the xine media player. Using Pyxine, it is possible to write simple (or complex) user-interfaces to xine. This makes it much easier for one to write custom xine UIs. Sample packages are available at http://people.debian.org/~piman/pyxine . Python 2.2 and 2.3 are supported; it didn't compile for Python 2.1, and that's old enough that I don't care enough about it. Four of the tests are failing, which I will ask the upstream mailing list shortly after I send this out (one looks trivial, two look confusing, one looks wrong). --=20 Joe Wreschnig <wre...@um...> |
