Hi Micha, I have tried to reproduce this with the current PyX trunk but obtain a different (and correct) result (see attached PDF output), which will not lead to crashes with older pdflatex versions. It seems to me that you have not fully applied the fixes in r3682. In addition, you should also apply r3683, which fixes a related bug that does not lead to a pdflatex crash but nevertheless corrects an incorrect field name in the PDF font descriptor output.
