and now /usr/texbin/kpsewhich? If both locations correspond to the
same TeX installation, then it is indeed a strange one.áMy impression is that you have
systematically broken your TeX and PyX installation.á

texbin is an aliasápointing toá/usr/local/texlive/2007/bin/i386-darwin/
I respect your impression but actually my TeX install works pretty well (laTeX, ConTeXt from default setup in TeXShop)áand it is not strange at all asáI simply installed macTeX which is the one everybody uses on macosx out of the box

on a new mactel with 10.4.8.

latex and texexec commands (the ConTeXt command) from terminal both seem to point to texbin

polifilo:/ andreavalle$ which latex
polifilo:/ andreavalle$ which texexec

And I'm pretty well sure I haven't hacked anything at all.á (I'm not able to...)

I am giving up at this point.

Well, many thanks for the effort . I understand it is complicated to debug without having the computer under your fingers. I'm afraid I will have to switch again to metapost (I'm not happy of it).

I did this interview where I just mentioned that I read Foucault. Who doesn't in university, right? I was in this strip club giving this guy a lap dance and all he wanted to do was to discuss Foucault with me. Well, I can stand naked and do my little dance, or I can discuss Foucault, but not at the same time; too much information.
