Regarding ant... I remember that I had to install ant to be able to install another software and I did not like this. Probably is included in most Linux distros, but in mac os x is not. I think I prefer the typical: ./configure --with-mysql=3D/usr/local/mysql/lib make make install And nothing special for mac os x. Cheers.
