On some systems, setting PYTHONPATH if it is not already used can change the default behaviour of the system. It's also a pain.
Another option is to move the pyvision subtree (found within src) to the normal python site-packages location. In Mac OS X (under python version 2.5), for example, with out be something like:
mv pyvision /opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/lib/python2.5/site-packages/
(you must have to use "find / -name site-packages" depending how your installation).
Thanks for the tip. I will add this the installation tutorial. When pyvision becomes more stable I am planning to add a "setup.py" script that will install like a typical pyvision package..
