Hang on... sorry... I'm talking out of my hat, and misrepresenting Jeremy.
Jeremy suggested:

On the fuzzy grounds of greater language neutrality I counter-proposed:

    "%s not raised"

And lo! - neither was checked in. I'll make a change along these lines, then.
