The most important thing to remember is to INSTALL the LIBRARY BEFORE you INSTALL the GRABBER.

The install scripts have code in them to check for the library before installing the grabber, and instruct the user to install the library first.  They also have unit test code in them to ensure that all the unit tests pass before the library is installed.

I've made _some_ win32.exe self extracting packages for "easy" installation under windows.

Unfortunately the windows installer doesn't seem to be checking for the library or running those unit tests.

Hopefully, for windows users, the pretty GUI and ease of installation will out way the loss of integrity and potential bugs.

BTW if there isn't too much negative feedback over the win32.exe versions, we'll release them for all the grabbers.  (Although no-one has put up their hand to support windows, so you may not get much support.)

Or you could always stay with windows, but get the benefits of the linux world by installing:

    http://cygwin.com
    or
    http://colinux.org
