    Sourceforge allows uploads of patches regardless of whether the cvs
is currently there or not.  My concern with sourceforge is primarily 
over how readily accessible the cvs tree would be if I wanted to get the 
entire tree.  Also I have some concerns over whether sourceforge will 
be around in the long term.  However, I'll look into putting my cvs
code on sourceforge after the next release.

    Okay, is there a way to determine that?  Some distutils function or
something similar?
