The only argument I can think of to change those two is that in both cases you mentioned (one component left, zero components left), the propEd widgets no longer have any real meaning in a multi-component sense. What's the point of equalizing, aligning, or distributing one component (or zero components). So it makes sense to switch back to the mode where the propEd buttons and fields make the most contextual sense. Not a bust 'em down argument, but something to kick around. Another somewhat related issue, with the 0.2 I'm using now, <ctrl>-deselecting one component from a multiple-selection doesn't remove it from the sublist of components in propEd. It should, right?
