I find that sometimes, messages are delayed from being posted for a few hours. Less frequently, messages get lost completely. In the last few weeks, I've had one message get completely lost, and I've also had a few experiences where I've immediately received CC replies from people, but where the messages didn't show up on the list for quite a while.
