You might want to try Eric3--a very powerful and comprehensive Python IDE. It requires PyQt to be installed, but I've put together a large binary installer for all this stuff--see http://www.wordtech-software.com/pyqt-mac.html I'm also working on putting together a bundle of Stani's Python Editor (SPE) which is also based on wxPython. It used to be very buggy on the Mac but now works well--I'm working with the developer to iron out a few small bugs.
