I use Wing-IDE for debugging Pythoncard (on Windows), and I know it also 
runs on OSX, apparently well  (though I haven't used it there myself).  
It's not free, though it's pretty reasonably priced for personal use.

I use the Pythoncard editor most of the time - the experimental one 
called oneEditor/tabcodeEditor - but on the relatively rare occasions I 
need actual debugging with breakpoints etc. I switch to Wing-IDE.
